Okay, for the money, you know it's not the most powerful amp on the market. But let's face it, this thing is really, really inexpensive. In my experience, the trade off for this kind of thing is durability. Well, I bought mine from the great name in automotive electronics, U Pull & Pay. That's right. It came from a junk yard. And it works great. It's remarkable, really, that it's as good as it is. 200 watts? Meh, I doubt it. But it does make a bit of power. I'm using mine to drive a 10" subwoofer and I have to admit, it's not bad. This is the cheapest set up imaginable, and for once, I'm pleasantly surprised by the result. Need more power? Buy two. Shoot, buy 5. You'll still have less than the cost of a "real" amp in it and several hundred watts.
I have purchased this amplifier to add to my existing system. After getting it all adjusted, this amp added such good bass to my rear deck 6x9's. It is stable and very reliable and compares to amps that cost much more. It also has a lot of features and great power that I have seen only in more expensive amps.I now have two of these same amps and my car stereo sounds awsome. You can't get more bang for the buck. My friends were shocked to hear the sound I was getting. They couldn't tell the difference between this amp or any high priced famous maker amp.I opened the trunk to show what I was using and they said nothing, just gave me a half smile. My friends have a ton invested in there systems and I am getting equal quality sound at a fraction of what they spent. A big name and price does not make the sound better. The proof is here.Read full review
first of all, don't expect miracles from the "two hundred watts" label of near ANY amplifier ever since the FCC allowed TEN PERCENT DISTORTION on maximum power output ratings. this one claims 100+100, a good rule of thumb, divide by three... so 35w+35w of clean power, and it does that very well! bridged mono expect about 70w max. connect it to an efficient woofer or two (NOT huge power rated power hungry SUB woofer!) and you'll get tons of bass from it, no joke. try a pair of M C M electronics 12" treated paper cone with cloth surround woofers, about 25 bucks each that deliver 97-98db on the first watt. their 10" are almost as good, delivering 94-95db on the first watt of power. your battery and alternator will be pretty happy, so will your ears. sure, you can spend a ton on a car audio system packing BIG power, OR, take my advice for really big sound sticking with better speaker efficiency ratings, and getting it done on a budget. connecting 500w speakers to a 35w amp wondering why it isn't loud and the amp is heating up, is pure genius isn't it? if you're smart about setting things up, these little amplifiers really ARE a great deal. amp has "bass only" switch built in, so no need of expense or hassling with crossovers or low pass filters. not trying to be mean to anyone, people DO goof it with audio electronics all the time not knowing this stuff I learned long ago. these VR3 are also nice with Parts Express "Gold Wood" 10" or 12" dual voice coil woofer (not SUB woofer!) for a single speaker cabinet bass solution, or go single voice coil (mentioned above M C M) on a mono output. you can have RAGING BASS for under 100 bucks with what I've typed here.Read full review

With the tunability of filters and gain, you can tailor this amp to work in many environments. News flash: you don't need 12,000,000 Watts in order to feel and hear your bass. 200 Watts properly tuned is great in a daily driver and this amp gives you lots of flexibility. Clean bass sound, no discernable noise.
