This is my second 8500 HP printer. I smashed the first one because of an imaginary paper jam. I got this one used. After a good cleaning, new print cartridges and new print heads it is working fine.

The used printer with power supply was well-packaged and arrived intact. It was clean and free of any obvious issues. Both of the print heads (black/yellow and cyan/magenta) needed to be replaced. All of the ink cartridges (black, yellow, cyan and magenta) also needed to be replaced. It is now operational and produces acceptable results.

I purchased this printer because I wanted a wireless printer. I was difficult to try and hook up wirelessly so I had to go and purchase a USB cord so I was able to print. One problem that I have found is the paper tray. The tray does not extend far enough for you to print and the paper to stay in the tray, it always ends up falling off of the tray. I have used the printer and the copier features, which work very well. The other features (fax & scanner) I have not used as of yet so I am not certain if they work or how well they will work. I might look around a little longer to see if there is anything out there that would be just as good for less money.
Hi to all. If you buying this printer buy not going to modify it with CISS system don’t buy it… you better be of with HP8600 Reason why I bought this printer from eBay because its easiest printer to modify with continues ink system and hp don’t make this printer any more, they replace it with hp 8600… Now I never need to buy expensive ink carriages, after I install CISS system with auto reset chips... if you install CISS system with auto reset chips do not register your printer or connect it to internet it can cause problems… If any one also decides to buy this printer and CISS system - continues ink system you must fill it only with Premium pigment Ink 940 any other ink will clog yours print heads and replace them will cost you about ~$ 70 to 80 If you install CISS system with auto reset chips do not register your printer or connect it to internet don’t matter what… if some one used this printer and connected to interned and updated to latest firmware version it can cause problem with refilled ink supply be ware of that… my firmware version is: LRP1FN1126AR If you buy this printer used be sure print heads health is GOOD not fair or fail Print quality is good, almost the same with refilled ink but you can tell small difference with colors but its ok I am not printing photos and its not photo printer. I use it for business and I have 2 same printers with CISS system… on my first printer I made 16000+ prints and never bought ink and on this one so far 100+ pages so far… I hope this information helpful for other people… GL ;)Read full review
Another Great printer from HP.. Very fast, easy setup, wifi enabled, and has built in duplex capability.. very large paper tray, and even has separate ink tanks, for each of the 3 colors and black, so you only have to change the ink tank that is low, instead of the old way, where you had to replace the tri-color cartridge... Scans, faxes copies and printer.. does everything I need it to...I have used it for over a month now, and am very happy with this printer
