Wumpscut has been losing their edge lately. Though this has the aesthetically pleasing drones and typical marching beats, the lyrics just aren't the same as a lot of their older material. The two real gems on this cd are Hate is Mine and Opening the Gates of Hell. Opening the Gates of Hell, which is the first track, creates a millitaristic beat and rasping, skin-tingling vocals that one would hope the rest of the CD carries. I personally was disappointed until Hate is Mine. Hate is Mine has the creeping, crawling sensation of slower Industrial tracks. Christfuck is a below average song of Wumpscut's. Many remember it for the blasphemous title, but it's nothing special. The title song, Wreath of Barbs isn't that fantastic, either. I got bored with the repetition of the synthwork. However. Line of Corpses was good. The mixture of the songs was hugely disappointing, so I'm rating this album somewhere between "average" and "Good" but erring on the side of "ok" for the Industrial enthusiast.Read full review
