This is an I2C version and works using only 4 wires VCC GND SDA and SCL. Hence more expensive than the basic HD44780. The I2C interface is provided and already fitted. I2C interface includedand fitted (already soldered).

Perfect combination of display and I2C interface.
Hooked up with just four wires to the Arduino and running the I2C scanner code to find the address, this display works perfectly with already available libraries. As these I2C display interfaces seem to vary address depending on the jumpers and actual version of chip on the board this is certainly a worthwhile proceedure prior to programming/coding. The display is clear and bright and will look great in any project. It's well built and looks great when lit up. Buy one even if you have no immediate use, I'm sure you'll not regret it.

Great product and reasonable price
Highly recommended for anyone wanting a simple system to display data from an Arduino. The I2C interface makes integration simple with many devices in the same base. Watch out for address conflicts though. And make sure you use the right Arduino libraries.
