  • Good, but be careful

It's actually quite a while since I bought these, but I've only just got round to using them. I wanted to use them to step down from 12V to about 4V which, with a small limiting resistor, can drive some LED lamps efficiently. I've got them doing this now but there are a few gotcha's that the unwary could fall prey to. The little variable resistor that you are supposed to set the o/p voltage with is a 200k one and set half way when received to 100k. With the 8k2 fixed part of the voltage divider this sets the o/p voltage to ~12.2V, which is out of range for a 12V input. I'm not sure what this would do if you turned it on before adjusting. I set mine to about 27k for a 4V output and all is well. Been in service now for a couple of weeks with many power-on and power-off cycles and so ...

  • Small and compact

The pro's are excellent quality... the cons are....You cannot seperate the output ground..my application was for a negative output and this cannot be acheived using this module... I have tried.
