My late older brother built this kit for me when I was a kid in grade school. I remember watching him work on it after dinner learning how to build models myself eventually. This kit is very detailed for it’s day, Revell Engineers and Mold Craftsmen were some of the best in their day! The kit includes detail of the engine and cockpit along with movable flight control surfaces and landing gear. Highly recommend this vintage kit!

It's a decent fitting kit, but has a ton of very tiny parts. So that's why a 3 instead of a 4 outa 5 rating. Decals were toast at this age but no surprise there. I used the roundels from a leftover 1/32 F-4f wildcat decal set & the sharks mouth for a 1/32 F-4 Phantom decal set. I thought it turned out decent considering my skills. It was very nicely detailed. You could really go bananas on the engine & cock-pit interior. Tons of details & instructions are very detailed about color placement as well. The canopy was a good enough fit that I left it operational - it had a very smooth action to it. I've had to glue 'em shut on more than one occasion for one reason or another. It's a far better kit than the 1/48 scale version by Revell. So yes, I would recommend this kit. But it might be frustrating for a beginner. I hope this review was helpfulRead full review
