Best for plastic filter housing not metal
If you have a plastic filter housing then I assume this will work perfectly. But always use the socket not the 3/8 as I wouldn’t trust that! If you have a metal filter housing it will still work (unless stupidly tight) but note the slots do not reach over the housing to slot into the ones on the filter housing. Only half the flutes (depth) contact the filter which thankfully was enough for me but I would have bought another type if I had known this before. I will try to cut off the slot section on my tool to have full contact with the flutes to have less chance of rounding the filter housing.If you have a plastic filter housing then I assume this will work perfectly. A bit of a tight fit
It did work, but I had to tap the tool over the oil filter housing with a nylon mallet. Therefore, it was a bit of a wrestling match getting it back off again! I will probably have a quick whizz round the bore with a flap wheel, just to open the bore up a bit. Otherwise, yes, it worked ok.
