Reviews
"Their second album finds these thoughtful Brits exploring even more emotional territory, replete with ecstatic choir-led choruses." - Grade: A-, Ranked #12 in Q's "The 50 Best Albums of 2003" - "A big, weighty record of slow-motion rock...", 3 stars out of 5 - "A rock-symphonic cocktail of ringing guitars, jazzy pitter-patter and interstellar sound effects....It's the rare art-rock album that comes as much from the heart as the head.", 4 stars out of 5 - "Elbow are more real, raw and ravaged than almost any other current British band. There's horror, humour, never hubris...", "The slithering guitars and off-kilter rhythms that surround singer Guy Garvey make for music that's the definition of late-night listening..." - Rating: B+, 3 stars out of 5 - "Frontman Guy Garvey sounds surprisingly jovial....Elbow didn't lose their ambition when they found inner peace...", Ranked #58 in Uncut's "Albums Of The Year 2003", "The band finds new ways to strike musical nerves....the album aims to soar over the heads of Doves and Spiritualized..."

Great communication with seller. Seller tried their best to locate the item, as well as myself, but item not found due to delivery gone bad. Still leaving positive feedback for the seller.

  • Wonderwall, the real deal

I Love this band, honest good song writing, followed by a great tune. I hate the sound of rubbish music . The Manc consortium think that modern music came from their rear end. Judging from the wonderwall combo , cover versions over the last xxxx years I can honestly say that The Beatles deserve their praise. Listen to Elbow. A111

  • Great album really enjoyed it.

Having never heard of Elbow until they won the mercury award, I did not know what to expect but have been surprised at how good their music is. I would compare them to Editors or even Joy Division although they are probably slightly more contemporary. The tracks are very well produced and will stand the test of time, I think they are great and am now going to purchase the back collection.

  • Elbow... Now a cast of millions follow them

Beautiful, uplifting album of mixed rock/jazz/classical styles intersresed with amazing vocals. Would recommend it to anyone who loves pure class and style.

  • Late convert.....

I've just discovered Elbow and I'm amazed at the diversity of sounds they produce. Eloquent lyrics (they can actually string, meaningfull words together) and an extraordinary insight into sound combinations makes this band a joy to listen to. You may need to give it a little time initially but listen.....
