You need to be in on the joke.
Mrs. Miller was a sensation in the mid 1960s. She was terrifically entertaining because her singing was so, so, awful. The joke doubled down in how unaware Mrs. Miller was of just how marvelously bad she could be.

What can I say. It's Mrs. Miller. Bless her heart. How can you not love Mrs. Miller? I have been listening to an old scratchy vinyl of Mrs. Miller's Greatest Hits for years and it is refreshing to hear her "tuneful" voice in the clarity of a CD.
