      Brutality of war and the endless cost

      A deeply moving story showing the consequences on both sides of the tragic first world war battles in Turkey. Mr Crowe shows his delicate acting skills bringing the shattered fathers quest and his hope for the future into touching focus. A love interest from ruined plans of pre war characters slowly blossoms in the post war hearts of societies changed forever. The closing credits feature a beautifully written and sung song that seals the entertainment as a classic!

      Love any true life story,and set in both Australia, and Turkey some wonderful location skits. Knew no other actors either, besides Russell Crowe,and this also is a factor I enjoy.

      Great directorial debut

      I was amazed to see this was Russel Crowe's directorial debut and it is excellent. He gets the very best from his cast. It is a superb storyline especially the Gallipoli references and scenes. Also there is a young boy making his acting debut and he is brilliant especially when acting the scenes with Russel Crowe. Great storyline with some very exciting scenes and some heart rendering passages too. Highly recommend!!
