My CD rec'd by USPS 3/24/25 as stated by the seller. Pkge arrived in fine shape. CD inside was well protected and sealed very well on the outside along with a nice "thank you" note from the seller. CD still had the original cellophane wrap and that tells me it was never opened or used. I have yet to play it, but I will sometime later today. I am very pleased with my first order from this seller.

Excellent, rare, unappreciated music.
It only was recently I discovered Bunny Berigan. I knew about the song "I Can't Get Started," because I have played it many times in jazz settings. I am becoming a bit of a jazz historian as well as American popular music in general. I enjoy getting to the roots of the songs, their context, and their original intent. Born in 1962 my generation was not exposed to jazz music via the radio, thus American popular songs in general are a thing of the "Jazz Age" and later. (recording didn't begin until the early 1920's) I have discovered "Early Jazz" is of great ensemble and compositional quality. In some ways it is more representative than the jazz that came later. I still fully don't understand the lineage of jazz evolution. "Early Jazz," which is what this CD contains in the vein of ... It only was recently I discovered Bunny Berigan. Perhaps it was before there was a societal need to rebel against homogeneous cultural content, as people were content with what they were back then. Civil rights changed the nature and purpose of jazz music. This music is for dancing and entertainment. Bunny is a prodigious, prolific, and virtuosic trumpeter, and this is an excellent representation of his musical output. I would suggest re-ordering the songs, because as any great record producer knows this tension and release is the difference between a great album and one this is just an expose of songs. As for Bunny himself, his playing with the straight mute is original possibly with the influence of Freddie Keppard. It is expressive and unique. Bunny's solo voice is lyrical, musical, and star like. This music is a rare find, but there is an incubation period of appreciation.
