I was unsure whether to make the leap from PC to Mac but Apple have slowly won me over with their other products (iPhone 4 and iPad 2). After much deliberation, I have finally plumped for a MacBook. I wanted the portability and size of a laptop, rather than a great big iMac. When weighing up each laptop there were many factors, size being one. If I want a laptop, I want it to be portable enough to take anywhere, so I decided on the 13.3" one. I decided to upgrade to the higher spec processor as I edit RAW photos and convert videos. This is a lovely laptop. It feels solid and sturdy. It's tiny when folded and has a great battery life (4 hours, even when working hard - longer if just browsing internet etc). A 15" would be even nicer, but I love how small this laptop is when closed down, and I find the screen big enough. I've converted to the operating system now and am slowly learning to love it more than Windows - the gestures on the trackpad make navigating around your workspace and multiple desktops a breeze. Warning: the keyboard will take a week or so to get used to (separate buttons). I haven't found any compatibility issues yet - Mac 'Pages' reads/write Microsoft Office .doc files and is, in some ways, easier to use. The only con I can think of is that the laptop can get quite warm when working hard. Then the fan kicks in and is quite noisy. This is a rare occurrence, but is noticeable. It's a small price to pay for a laptop that runs cool and quietly at all other times.Read full review
Bought for university graphics course use and my daughter uses it all the time even though she also has a laptop. Was cheaper than buying brand new from Apple and is just as good by buying on Ebay. The product is very good and lightweight and very portable which is good for for portability. Good memory and hard disk size. Screen definition is great and crystal clear.
The macbook is as good as everyone needs it to be, it performs incredible even at 4gb ram, I was considering upgrading to an 8gb, however that may breach possible conditions for insurance. Apart from that it's smooth, fresh out of the box and sweet. If you want to contact me personally about how well it runs, feel free to message me but I'm 100% satisfied with the product. I just remember when I 1st opened it and saw the charger. LOL! I nearly didn't assemble it properly XD but its brilliant and cheaper than the apple store That's the only thing I didn't understand actually. Why is it cheaper than the one at the apple store...
I love my Mac! Sure, it costs more than the average laptop but it's worth every penny. With Mac one gets the best of two worlds: unix-like system in the back-end and a stunning front-end. Believe me, I work with computers for a living and this laptop it's by far the best machine I ever owned. I never used any other of my computers at home since I have got this one. If I can move an observation to Apple is that it's quite heavy and the battery life could be better. Everything else is AAA+
I've had this as my main laptop for years now and it's been reliable, fast, light to carry and beautifully displayed as good as it was the day I first got it. The only reason I would choose to sell it is to upgrade for better, nothing more. It's the best laptop I've ever had. Easy to upgrade, easy to use, "it just works."
