Dew / Light pollution shield
Although this Dew shield is reasonably well made the current cost is rather high! This should really be around £20-£25 pounds. It’s basically a piece of stuff card with plastic material apply to the surface! I have not used this yet but have tried it for fit on a Nextstar SE 8 - it fits perfectly. But it will not fit successfully out of the bag! It’s too stiff and the Velcro will not hold. You need to roll it up ( in direction of fitment) a bit smaller than the diameter needed and leave it for a while to give it a natural curve and it partially stays in that position then there is no opposing force on the Velcro strip. It has a Matt non reflective internal surface so I can see no light will bounce down the tube helping reduce light pollution. As for reducing/stopping Dew I can’t confirm ... Although this Dew shield is reasonably well made the current cost is rather high! This should really be around £20-£25 pounds. You can get cheaper but for the '6' there is no fitting to do. Good quality and foam scope protection and rolls into self fastening small roll. No regrets - worth spending the extra, I think, to protect an expensive piece of kit
