poor control
I have owned my saw for about a year and really don't like it. the thing will only run very slow until you put a load on the cut, ok for just hacking wood but no control for delicate or precision cutting. have taken back to Makita uk and they say that is how it is meant to work. its a shame as all my kit is Makita but looks like I will have to consider looking to other tool brands for my jig saw.I have owned my saw for about a year and really don't like it. the thing will only run very slow until you put a load on the cut, ok for just hacking wood but no control for delicate or precision cutting. have taken back to Makita uk and they say that is how it is meant to work. its a shame as all my kit is Makita but looks like I will have to consider looking to other tool brands for my jig saw.

Happy - Makita reputation doesn't fail.
It was a present for my son, so although this isn't a personal review, I can say that he is more than happy with it. He has sent me videos of him using it and is really chuffed with it. He uses all Makita power tools and this was the final piece in the collection.

Makita are good quality and will satisfy most job that need to be done around the home and work, just need to remember that these are battery power and do not have the same grunt as AC power tools, but the freedom from trailing leads is the bonus
