    Another fine tool from Makita

I bought this saw for garden use having already bought an 18V hedge cutter with which I was mightily impressed. The small, light recip. saw has performed well, pruning unwanted elder saplings and removing shrub stumps. The advantage of this saw is that blades are quite cheap so using them half buried in soil is not a problem. Having the bar trigger as well as the finger one is a great benefit.

  • Sufficient

Well it's a good size for small works it's not the most powerful of tools but I mainly bought it to cut plasterboard around doors and windows which it is more than adequate for. If you require heavier cuts then not really the tool for the job as the blade tends to slow down when met with too much resistance. On the whole not too shabby Good luck.

  • The best reciprocating ever

I used one of this every single day for 2 years and half ,very good and very happy with it, the secrets to work very well is to use it with small blades, not longer than 100mm,use metal blades / wood blades but newer demolition blades that's for big reciprocating, also you can break a hacksaw blade in 3 pices and fit the pice in your reciprocating (respect the tifs way to cut) and when you fix the blade keep the end a bit bend in the front, will cat better than original blades

  • Does what I expected it to do.

Purchased this smaller saw for cutting boiler tubes in hard to get to places. OK its not as powerful as the larger one but cuts 2" carbon tubes easily.
