Product Information

Thousands of players join together online, to protect the world from inter-planar calamity, and to carry on a brutal civil war fueled by the essence of life and death. Rift is a persistent-world role-playing game with solo and group-oriented quests, flexible character-class customization, and an original fantasy setting. The world of Telara is special because of its proximity to other planes of existence. Ancient protections have recently been unbalanced, allowing these other planes to collide with Telara, creating violent rifts which offer passage back and forth to other realms of reality. <br><br>Rift's four main playable classes are mage, cleric, rogue, and warrior, each with several sub-class choices. As characters progress, they earn points for new abilities and unlock additional sub-classes. Advanced players can save up to four different ability configurations, and switch between these "roles" at will (when not in combat). Choosing from six available character races, players align with either the Guardian or the Defiant, and the game's player-versus-player battles are fought between these two factions. The interface is similar to those of contemporary online RPGs, with mouse-and-keyboard control and an action-button panel across the bottom of the screen. Rift requires a paid subscription for ongoing play.

    A Great Pickup if you Enjoy the Free Portion of the Game

    While Rift has gone "Free to Play", purchasing the original game has great in-game benefits still. The first one is that you can have 6 characters on each server (free accounts have only 2). Next, all characters that you create will start out with 5 inventory/ bag slots (free accounts have only 3). And finally, you get 30 days of "patron status", which is a subscription to the game, that offers lots of benefits for those 30 days. The subscription itself would cost $15.00 per month, but is free when you first apply the code for the original game. That alone makes the game a great deal if you can pick up a New version for less than $15.00. Overall, the game is still a lot of fun, and Rift's community is arguably one of the friendliest MMO communities around. If you enjoy playing the free ...

    This is more challenging and Fun than WOW ever was!

    Here is why this is better than Wow *You start with one of the 4 callings ( Mage, Cleric, Warrior, Rogue) Each one of these has 9 souls Rogue (Assassin, Bard, Bladedancer, Marksman, Nightblade, Ranger, Riftstalker, Saboteur and the PVP soul of Infiltrator. You can have up to 3 activate at a time with many combinations you can switch too *Not only will you be questing doing instances but randomly areas go to hell when rifts open and you have to work near the other players to close them as fast as possible. Making you feel that you actually are accomplishing something *NO! Cartoony Graphics *It is more challenging than Wow, If you run through an area of Enemies more than likely you will die! *Its still in its Vanilla phase meaning most people aren't telling you how to play *NO TUESDAY ...

    Great title, there is always something to do and completelly soloable.

    Great title! Immense and interesting world, great pvp system and community. Servers are always online, updates to the game come almost weekly and there is always more content. What i like about this game is that there is always something to do, close a rift, go to battle grounds, pvp, farm some quests. Honestly there is something to do for every type of player and the fun starts since the very beginning you do not have to be top level in order to enjoy the game. Also the game is completely soloable you are able to play alone and still have fun with it unlike other mmos.

    Good product and gameplay worth the cost.

    This is a good game. A lot of nice scenery and the game play isn't your average game play. This doesn't play the same as WoW but it still is amazing. I would recommend this game to anyone who likes mmo's or wants to give one a try.
