Valis Returns To Sega Genesis
Valis III is a decent platformer/ adventure game to hit the Sega Genesis. It was released in the U.S. and Japan. The Japanese cover art looks better than the U.S. one. This game is slightly harder than the original. You now get to switch between your characters and have the ability to slide(this is necessary in a good amount of areas). Each charcater has different abilities and you will have to decide who's the best candidate for certain levels if you want to advance. I bought this complete(NM) for $20 on here a couple months ago. It was well worth it because you will not find it too often in such great condition. I like the first Valis game better for some strange reason. Maybe that will change. Fun game, but burtaly hard.
Let's get this out of the way... Valis 3 is hard. Ninja Gaiden hard. Few, if any people will finish this game. And it doesn't help that there's no cheat codes beyond using a Game Genie. That being said, the game is still as fun and entertaining as the previous Valis, with a great story, and decent characters. The game now features character switching, with three characters you can switch to on the fly and the game progresses. However, the switching mechanic can be a little problematic, as switch and slide are mapped to the same button. The game also has Metal Gear Solid Syndrome, as the cut scenes are quite long, and the text can't be sped up. But these cut scenes can be skipped if you just want to get to the action. valis 3 for sega genesis
