I bought my igloo cooler years back and figured I wouldn't be able to buy a replacement Power Cord for it. To my luck, I was. The Power Cord has improved over the years. My original didn't have a fuse in the car-socket, which the new one has, and it even had a replacement fuse. My cooler startet to work normally again after I replaced the old Power Cord with the new. Great!

This power cord works perfect for my cooler. Other people said they get hot that is not the case with the one I am using. I used it for about four hours the other day and it never even felt slightly warm on either end. The end that goes in to the cigarette lighter is much better made than the plug that came with the cooler originally. Would recommend.

My electric cooler gets plenty of use, as I am a long haul driver. Like others, my plug eventually became misshapen due to heat, and failed on the road. Thanks to a previous reviewer, I saved my food by splicing another plug to my cord (obtained from a $15 12v two-into-one adapter). I've noticed that my spliced plug does not get nearly as hot as the original did, and the new cord is an exact replacement...so, I keep the replacement cord as a backup, while I continue to use my spliced cord.

This is the third cord I have had to buy for my igloo plug in cooler. It is by far the best quality I have seen so far. It seems to be better than original equipment. I have no doubt this one will last the lifetime of the cooler.

It's a cord. It works. What is not to like. Nice to know you can get a replacement for a single item that goes bad rather than needing to purchase the whole thing.

Read my title above, self-explanatory. I think the overheating issue may have been caused by lack of good contact with the conductive portions of the plug to lighter socket, because I constantly had to wiggle the tight-fitting plug to get the power flowing. Lack of good solid contact will tend to cause excessive heat build-up which over time will damage the plastic housing near the threads that hold the cap and fuse in. It's a typical issue to which I know of no solution. Just buy another cord when it fails?? That's what I've been doing.... :-(
