About this product

Product Information

Splinter Cell: Double Agent takes the stealth-based series in a new direction after three successful covert operations on multiple platforms. After learning his teenage daughter was killed in a car crash, a despondent Sam Fisher is unable to complete his duties for the NSA's splinter cell, Third Echelon, and is reassigned as a NOC, a non-official cover agent who operates from within dangerous organizations. His mission is to infiltrate a domestic terrorist group called the John Brown's Army. For the first time in the series, Fisher cannot rely solely on his gadgets or the direct support of the NSA. He must instead fall back on his keen instincts to survive while working deep undercover.

Instead of advancing through linear missions across a series of international locales, players will experience a branching storyline with multiple endings, where decisions made at one juncture will influence subsequent events as the game progresses. Fisher must initially earn the trust of the John Brown's Army to become a card-carrying member, so he must engage in carefully orchestrated heists and even an elaborate prison break to get in the good graces of key contact Jamie Washington. If Fisher is successful in befriending Washington, he will be invited to the terrorist group's headquarters, a multi-floor structure that serves as a jumping point for future missions.

From that point on, Fisher will be faced with multiple moral decisions as he walks a fine line between working with the JBA and on behalf of his NSA mentor, Irving Lambert. He will also be partnered with an AI-controlled character in many of the missions, introducing a new element to the single-player game. Of course, Splinter Cell: Double Agent also features online support via Xbox Live, including cooperative play and the exclusive spies versus mercs mode with new moves, gadgets, and a revamped team ranking system. Both the Xbox 360 and PC versions also feature larger environments, interactive cut-scenes, more on-screen characters, alternate missions, and enhanced graphics when compared to the Xbox and PlayStation 2 games.

    As good as I remember

I had this game before, and it is as great as ever! Great stealthy gameplay and plenty of morality based decisions.

  • Still best in the spy genre, but has its flaws

Just like Sam Fisher, Splinter Cell Double Agent is the best in its class. You will not find a better stealth action game on the market right now. That being said, there is still much to be desired in Double Agent. First off, Ubisoft stuck with the tried and true controls and overall gameplay of Chaos Theory, so if you've played the previous Splinter Cell title, you will have no problem jumping right into this game. I was a little dissapointed by the lack of new moves or gadgets for Sam, but the stupendous graphics on HD make up for it. You can actually see the sweat dripping off Sam's neck during the game. Besides nice visuals, this game has a very good storyline. The in between mission scenarios where you must balance your duties as a terrorist against the NSA objectives add a great ...

  • Good Game.

This game is a fun experience if you haven't ever played any of the other Splinter Cell games. The action is great, and the idea of staying invisible is cool. The graphics are donw well, along with the settings. The setbacks are the tedious controls...it was until about 3/4 done with the game before I had all of the buttons down. Another problem was the artificial intelligence. Sometimes the characters would make you feel like they had eyes on the back of their heads. Also, if you sometimes would shoot someone in the back of the head, it may not respond, and off the alarm goes! Last but not least, some characters that you kill will flop around as if they had a seizure, which takes away any of the realness that is still there. Bottom Line: Go play this game for the action, but it's ...

  • Splinter Cell Double Agent Gamer Review

I bought this because, I bought a Xbox 360 after this game came out. And I owned the Xbox original version. In this game I like the single player a lot. The missions are really fun. If you've played the version for the original xbox, this game is completely different and thats what I like about it. In this game they took away the light meter, sound meter and all the HUD. They condensed it into one light on your back and the screen. Green means your good, your in darkness. Yellow means your not in darkness and the bad guys don't know were you are(yet). And red mead the enemy sees you and will actively seek you you and try to kill you. The multi player is not so good. If your a diehard Splinter cell fan you will probly like Splinter cell Chaos Theory's multiplayer better. For both COOP and ...

  • Ubisoft could make this game better

I am a huge Splinter Cell fan. I have all the games from the Splinter Cell (SC) series. Story Concept: It's a decent story with some new ideas for gameplay. There are a few things such as building mines and cracking email seems out of place for SC series. Gameplay: You earn new gear when you complete some of tasks in a level properly. You can finish the missions even without these upgrades. The basic gear is more than enough for a full stealth gameplay mode. The stealth scoring is better. You can finish the level and the game any way you like, but the stealth score depends on how you finish the level. I am not happy with the way game saving option is laid out. It was far better in SC-Chaos Theory. No quick save feature for Double Agent. Multiplayer: I have not played the multiplayer ...
