About this product

Product Information

The computer animation crew at Pixar--the creators of TOY STORY--return with another feature rife with stunningly rendered worlds populated by cute critters you can't help but care about. The story is simple--an ant colony led by Flik (Dave Foley) seeks help from a flea circus and other insects in their struggles against the oppressive grasshopper bullies led by Hopper (Kevin Spacey). However, as with TOY STORY, there is as much for adults to enjoy here as there is for the kids. (In fact, the story is loosely based on Akira Kurosawa's classic SEVEN SAMURAI.) And don't miss the wonderful "outtakes" that roll with the closing credits!

    A Bugs Life DVD Review.

I absolutely loved this movie growing up. Truly one of my favorite Disney/Pixar movies. I understand that it gets overlooked compared to most Pixar films, and it doesn’t really get talked much, even being Pixar’s second feature film after Toy Story, but it is such an underrated masterpiece, and part of the reason why it gets overlooked is because it was released around the same time as the Dreamworks movie Antz. Still has a great cast of talented celebrities, and still holds up as being a wonder

  • It's not about Bugs, but it is about Life

I like cartoons. This one rides a bit too much on the tacky, cutesy side for me (the little "Princess" ant is cloying) and that is why I graded it as Good rather than Excellent. I like everything else about it though, including that it's really about humans. Trust me, an ant colony would not benefit nor be amused by this film. Humans, on the other hand . . . . Why did I decide to buy it? Because I wanted to replace my VHS version with something less inclined to disintegrate over time (or get eaten by the tape machine).

  • Highly recommend

Bugs Life movie you can watch over and over again! For Adults and kids. Very colorful and good messages; one in particular about "working together" to help each other.

  • Flick... Adventurous Hero in Ant World

Pixar couldn't have put together a better all-star cast to represent the characters in A Bug's Life! This is one of those movies that sucks you in and makes you feel as though you're actually a part of it. The graphics and animation are simply amazing in color and detail. The plot and characters lend a believable quality about the life of ants. And it definitely has all the necessary emotional components for a movie to be considered successful: Happiness, sadness, anger, humor, drama, adventure, inspiration, etc. There are bonus features, too... both, at the beginning of the film, then some hilarious bloopers at the end. Mostly classified as a "Family" feature, but anyone could enjoy this movie. And it's a definite MUST HAVE for any dvd collection!

  • A Bugs Life

My 5 year olds been waiting to watch this movie since we were at Disney and watched the little show! We watched it tonight, and he loved it! Good quality!
