    GREAT ENLARGEMENT but bulky

    I am very pleased with this lens. It is solidly made and feels/looks expensive. It fits seamlessly onto my Nikon D3200 camera and provides sharp images. I bought at a bargain price and am very happy with my purchase. The only drawback comes with the size and weight of the lens. I can take good photographs with it hand held but for serious shots I need a tripod or monopod and their combined bulk puts a strain on things. I really wish I had had the lens with me on my safari in South Africa...it would have made an impressive difference to my wildlife photographs!

    Excellent lens, preferred to type G lens

    This zoom lens is excellent for general photography, better I believe than the often offered type G lens and in fact it exceeded my expectations. I use a 300mm fixed focus lens for more exacting applications but this comes a close second.

    Very good 70-300 mm at the price

    I bought this lens for photographing wildlife, and by and large I am very pleased with it, It is not a nikon vr (anti shake lens)so best used on a tripod where possible, But Ibam very pleased at the image quality, especially at the price that I paid recommended I am pleased over all, it a bit heavy that's the only downside but recommendedp

    Good basic lens but not fast enough for wildlife.

    Well i will start why i bought this nikon lens,i have just started wildlife photography and thought this lens would be a good start.After using this only a few times i knew this lens was not for me.I needed vr on a lens to help with shake when zoomed in at 200-300mm.So i sold it for a good price and changed ir for a 70-300mm vr 4.5-5.6 which is so so good,taken many many amazing shots in such a short time.Many thanks for reading this review.
