Absorbing, entertaining and with fine performances from all involved.
Personally, I only buy and retain DVD's that are at least 5 stars, and that have a compelling cast/actor/actress and which endure being seen more than once as time passes. I saw this film many years ago at the cinema. It had that special 'engagement factor'. Redford's performance, given the environment in which the film is set, is marvellous. I believe it is based on a true story, one that readers of the book of short stories by Frederick Forsyth will appreciate. I highly recommend the film, although it is perhaps a 'man's' film, rather than a woman's. Entertaining Story
An enjoyable story part fantasy and part down to earth tragedy which keeps you entertained right to the end of the film . With great acting from a great star with well chosen, good supporting cast which gives a feeling of what it must have been like to live in those times if the native Indians were as ruthless as they were depicted in the story. iIt leaves the audience feeling sad that Jerimiahs family were killed in the way they were for his trespassing on there sacred graveyard. I would recommend this DVD.An enjoyable story part fantasy and part down to earth tragedy which keeps you entertained right to the end of the film . One of my Favorites
Has to be one of the all time best films. There is something about the hard but simple life that is very appealing although I'm not to keen on the cold or fighting indians.....Watched it many times & I suspect will many times more.
