About this product

Product Information

This text connects two worlds that do not often meet - that of neuropsychology and cognitive science with Freudian theory and Jungian approaches to mythology and narrative. Peterson shows the reader that there is an empirical connection between what technologically sophisticated neuroscience tells us about the brain and behaviour, and what ritual, myths, and religious stories have long narrated. This connection has applications that play a key role in understanding human emotions and motivations for social conflict.

The book was received sooner than expected and in excellent condition. Very clearly brand new. The packaging, which I can only describe as excessive, would suffice if I'd have bought a piece of fine potery. - Good price. Recommended seller

The book is in excellent condition. It was also well-packaged,so it was not damaged in transit. I have bought other books on eBay where the condition of the book was not as described in the listing, so I was pleased that this book's condition was accurately described. The seller replied promptly when I contacted them. Recommended seller.

  • Excellent book from incredible author. Well worth of its price,

Quite demanding in terms of understanding psychological terms, which means some of the difficult words need to be searched in dictionary. The contents is compelling and interesting, it gives more insight and understanding in regards to psychological explanation of how myths, religious themes and other stories have actually contain the same kind of narrative oscillating between chaos and order, showing how to find yourself in breath taking dynamics between the two. It is definitely life-changing position! Have a good read, everyone!

  • A must have if you're a fan, one for your library, a lifetime read.

An important work. Not one for reading cover to cover I think more like a reference book or compendium of essays and thesies that you can keep going back to. I say this having not read it through, maybe if I get a good run at it I might have a different impression. Anyway Jordan Peterson has now condensed a lot of these ideas into his 12 Rules for Life book and his lectures. Given this book took 15 years to write it was never going to be a quick read. I'm clearly a massive fan of his.

  • Peterson’s Magnum Opus

He has refined and condensed his findings since so his theory could do with a 2nd Edition that’s perhaps 25% shorter.
