This chip Will fit acer aspire v3-531 Read Description
Laptop = acer v3-531 Just to let the people know who have the Intel® Pentium® Processor B960 Socket G2 Stepping code of old B960 chip QO according to the manufacturer the product number starts with SR07V download CPU-z and check your chip. Don't forget to clear the bios there are two small solder blobs tiny underneath the ram. just remove the battery and then take the screws out the bottom panel, then you need to remove the memory..And on the left side undeath where the memory was you will see two very small solder blobs short these with some thing metal leave the CMOS battery in just short them with a pair of metal tweezers hold them on for a few seconds maybe 5-10. Now you have to take the whole laptop to pieces to get to the chip it's a full mother board removal on the v3-531, so ... It's a complete teardown, but worth every minute of doing the process the B960 is a POS so this is a good upgrade for this laptop not too expensive and works ok you will also upgrade your onboard graphics from Intel 2000 too intel 3000 with no bottle knecks and will have some extra cores to play with.Because the GPU is integrated within the CPU. And if you do this download the latest bios for your v3-531 there on acers site, once downloaded get 7-zip and extract the installation package you just downloaded with the bios inside, this will extract all the files we need to flash our bios :))..Format a USB stick to Fat32 and just simply copy or extract the file we downloaded from Acer's web site that contains the bios don't just double-click it, This needs to be done properly once you have transferred the files onto a USB stick remove battery and power lead hold the power button for 30 seconds. Now leave the battery out then plug the power cable in and press FN at the very bottom of the left hand side of the keyboard, also hold don the ESC key and press start it should start to read from the USB make you do it in the correct order power cable hold FN and ESC and press power button if it does not work keep doing it you will soon get the hang of it google on how to do it will help This chip Made a huge difference, my son can play games now I don't know how far you could go, without causing a bottle neck that is why you don't just want to drop a stupid chip in there, as it would be more expensive than the laptop is worth but have a look around it would be interesting to see the graphics to tell 4000 :D. I would definitely recommend doing this upgrade its allot faster now, also contact seller for more information he helped out allot Thanks

Drop in replacement for a compatible laptop.
This, as you may know, is an obsolete item, not made for many years. I purchased it to replace the i3-2310M processor in an old laptop that I still have in every day use. It may be old and obsolete but it is still fully operational and was straight, drop in replacement (after much dismantling). If you have a compatible piece of equipment and you are not afraid of taking it to bits to get at the "works", you too can see an improvement in speed and general smoothness of operation for very little cost. Quad Core Happiness
So I purchased an i3 laptop, I then discovered it would take three different i5 chips and this, the i5-2520M was the cheapest of them all. Performance wise this is 140% quicker than the old i3 and was the best 'bang for my buck'.

An excellent upgrade for a Fujitsu T731 laptop.
Having a much better performance than the factory-shipped i3-2350M it revived my Fujitsu T731 laptop at a relatively low cost. I strongly recommend it for laptops that can accept it. Make sure your BIOS supports it.

I previously had B960 processor and I upgraded it to this one, a 2520M. Freaking amazing difference, plus it's an upgrade from integrated graphics HD 2000 to HD 3000 - totally worth it. Laptop is Acer Aspire 5479z, HM65 express chipset.
