If you are outdoors and you are sat next to it, it does heat you up locally. It does a good job. In a small closed area it is even better. I have a room about 5m cube (it's better to take into account the volume of the room than the area) where I have no heating and this little thing turns the room in an oven in ten minutes or so. I think it's great.

Nice little heater
After reading other reviews I was a little sceptical about the quality but I was pleasantly surprised. It's a lovely little heater, easy to use and kicks out a fair amount of heat. One of the reviews I read was where the gas bottle mechanism was really stiff he couldn't lock it into place and sliced his thumb open. I would say that was down to owner error. I found it almost impossible to pull the mechanism down until I realised the dial has to be off before you lock the canister into place (Common sense really, so you dont gas yourself). Once it was off it easily slid into place. Overall very impressed with my little heater. Not as safe as expected
Having used the unit for a couple of days I was reasonably satisfied with it, even though the canister locking lever was stiff to use. Therein lies the problem. On day three, whilst changing the canister, the plastic knob fell off............. When that happened (Whilst pushing it into the locking position) it exposed a very sharp pointed metal lever which managed to cut a deep hole in my thumb which caused the loss of a substantial amount of blood! Nice heater
It works as it should, is relatively compact, light weight and seems to be made with reasonable quality. I have not tried this out in cold environment, but so far I think it can perform well. I like the 8-pack of the gas included, since it is not so common in the area where I live. I recommend the product. It has lot of value for the price.

Heat drops-off quickly
It's a good idea in principle but poorly realised. The front cover falls open whenever it's moved, for example. The main problem is that the heat drops-off quite soon after it's lit. I think this may be because the bottle is mounted horizontally and the liquid level falls below the outlet. It would be better to have it upright, as when filling a lighter. I find it OK for taking the chill off my potting-shed while I light the paraffin stove. That said, the mechanism works well and, while I wouldn't recommend it, at this price it's hard to complain.It's a good idea in principle but poorly realised.
