Hometown anger
I was browsing through a site that had "bios" for an astonishing amount of groups when I noticed the bio for Anti-Flag. I've been a punk rock fan since it's inception in the 70s. When I noticed that the group was formed in Pittsburgh it really had my attention! The bio said the band was formed by a guy Justin Sane it got me thinking because it said he was one of 9 kids in Glenshaw, Pennsylvania where I grew up and from a working class family and his real name was Justin Geever it blew my mind. I had known, gone to school, and graduated with one of his brothers. Turned out I knew Justin for the first 5 years of his life since I spent a lot of time in the Geever's house growing up. Buying the CD out of curiosity I played it and loved it. Their music was like punk rock used to be when ... The playing was great and Justin has the perfect punk rock voice. Like their predecessors, The Sex Pistolss they are totally fed up with EVERYTHING about how our country is run. I did say EVERYTHING didn't I? But if you love punk rock you know this is practically a requirement of punk rock. And they do get their points across in a coherent manner. Give'em a chance. No matter what your world views are I suspect you'll still be pleasantly suprised!

Heed the Warning!
From the cover, we see an upside- down flag. This is a distress signal, just like the tunes on the disc. Here is an anti-war, anti-corporate disc released BEFORE the Iraq invasion and the other issues that have come to light. Farsighted and urgent, much like the best of the Clash's releases in the 70s and 80's. Highly recommended.
