Overall, the Majority Oakington (refurbished) is proving to be great value for money (purchased less than two weeks ago). The sound, both from DAB and CD functions is crisp and clear and it has a classy slightly retro look to the unit (walnut finish). I enjoy music and radio plays and the Bluetooth function works well through my mobile. The CD player is neat and easy to use but I think it could potentially be a little fragile so take care when inserting discs. The one real let down is the LED display which is so dim I can only read the information on it when standing a few inches away on the same level as the unit. After some reflection I decided that the sound quality overrode any initial disappointment with the poor display. I had read previous reviews that cited this issue though I'm unsure why the manufacturers can't provide a decent display when it's one of the features people are paying for? The remote control is quite cheap looking but functional, and actually very useful as the symbols on the manual function buttons on the front of the system are small and silver so again can only be disciphered close up. Because it's a refurbished model it only has a three month warranty so fingers crossed that it continues to perform as well as it does presently. I believe bought new that the model do has a good three year warranty.Read full review

This DAB radio CD player works well but it’s actions are a little ponderous when it changes from one mode to another - it’s rather slow. The lightning up of the display is woeful, as other people have commented, and if you have it on a surface above your head you might as well not have a display at all as it cannot be seen. The hand controller works ok and is a lot better than a different, well known, brand that we had to send back. Overall I think it’s alright and not that tricky to program and easy to use when you have. If you need instructions in English as your German isn’t quite up to scratch (they seem to only come auf Deutsch) then you can easily find them on line if you put in the make etc.

The sound quality and volume are impressive for a unit this size. The DAB radio picks up more stations than I thought possible. Alarm feature works well. My only criticism is that the sleep function just cuts off the music rather than fade out. But I am very pleased with my purchase. So much so that I bought a second one.

Since '80 i've triyed many brands like akai, technics, panasonic, sharp, also cambridge audio,harman-kardon,luxman. Loudspeakers, like tannoy,celestion,bose,rft...i'm not a beginner....and believe me that thing sounds great for his price and dimensions. On the other hand ...in my opinion, if somebody want to improove ...to get something new, i'll put a pair of small tweeters and an antenna soket for a better reception. Hope you will underdtand me. Anyway, it sounds verry good.
