  • Silly Symphonies

For those not familiar with Disney's Silly Symphonies, these are a series of short cartoons, completed as musical novelty. These were largely completed in the 1920s and 30s. Each Symphony has its own character(s). Indeed Donald Duck got his big break in this series! This is a must have DVD for any Disney collector or fan. It is an insight into the early days of the Disney phenomena, and how Walt Disney and his gang were on the verge of creating some of the most celebrated cinema in history. This creation contains many of the early Symphonies, and the running time is well over 300 minutes, so it is great value. If you want to own a piece of cinema history, then buy this DVD. A must for children, both old and young!!!

  • Quality Set

I'm a big fan of all the 'oldie' cartoons that were animated in the thirties & forties. This Silly Symphonies set is a fantastic transfer - digitally restored to the highest standard, & contains some of the best of Disneys earlier work. A must buy.

  • great trip down memory lane, and my 3 yr old loves them

These are the cartoons they used to show between the 2 picture billings that i would go to on a Saturday morning as a kid. They really stand the test of time, and my 3yr old will back me up on that. Currently more popular than Buzz lightyear and they are 70 yrs old. All good , no duffers, great DVD.

  • Disney Treasures - Silly Symphonies R2 Tin Box DVD

This is the R2 European limited edition of the 2-disc DVD release. It comes sealed in a very attractive limited edition tin box (NOT NUMBERED). However, the USA R1 edition of the same DVD comes in a NUMBERED ltd edition tin box including a lithograph (this is NOT part of the R2 ltd edition packaging). Having repeatedly rented the VHS edition of these great Disney shorts back in the 80's, I was glad to find them in such a well-presented DVD edition.
