Hi bought this as a used item for my young son. Loved the quality of the graphics. Came with some games previously purchased by the former owner. Buyers need to be aware that if buying used and if the previous owner has already registered the device online with sony.com then there may be implications for downloading new games online as well as playing against other players online. Do your own research. The only other down side would seem to be a somewhat sluggish rate at which new games are being developed for this platform, due to the fact that Sony has not sold as many of these units as perhaps originally forecast. Please note that there are many features of this device (online abilities) that my son has not delved into. So this review will fall short in that area. Oh yes and there is a parental control feature which can be activated on this device.Read full review
A handheld with great potential. At the moment it's the most powerful mobile device available. It is, however, currently let down by its infancy as there are not enough good games on the platform at the moment (although there are some big releases coming later this year). The features promised with the release of the new PS4 also look promising. Another gripe I have with the Vita is the price of memory cards. With most downloadable games being at least 1GB, an 8GB card just isn't enough. Unfortunately, this is all I can afford as a quick eBay search will tell you that even a 32GB card will cost you roughly £50! I feel that developing an entirely new memory card format was a bad idea, although hopefully Sony will eventually license the memory card format out to third party developers, such as SanDisk, who will develop cheaper alternatives.Read full review
This is the best gaming purchase I have made this year. A great console with excellent games at decent prices including: Binding of Isaac, Super Meat Boy, Wipeout 2048 (plus Wipeout HD and expansion pack Wipeout: Fury), WRC series, Persona 4 Golden, Hotline Miami 2, Gravity Rush and many more. You can also purchase and play games from the PSP (PlayStation Portable) era, such as Metal Gear Solid: Portable Ops, Persona 3, Grand Theft Auto: Stories serieis and a raft more. As well as these past games you can buy and play games from the PSone days as you can on the PlayStation 3. The controls will be a little clunky wo get used to with non-analogue compatible games, but that will not detract from playing through Metal Gear Solid again. Snake? Snake?! SNAAAAAKE! The negative side to the Vita is the cost of the PlayStation memory card that is mandatory if you want to play a game that has a file size larger than 1GB. The 16GB card costs approximately £41; other manufacturers charge approx. £5-6 (on Amazon) for 16GB card. This is an extortionate price and severally disappointing that you cannot just plug in and play with the handheld and a card you have yourself, but have to pay Sony another £40 for the privilege. The hardware pleasant and comfortable to use. It is light but solid, screen has great levels of brightness in all but direct(ish) sunlight, buttons never wobble or appear loose, analogue sticks are an amazing piece of design and the shoulder buttons are perfect. The only issue that can arrise is finding the right hand position for yourself to avoid any discomfort. If you are experiencing pins and needles or cramp after only half an hour, then it is time to think of a new holding style. This is arguably the best handheld gaming console on the market today. A must buy for any intermediate to serious gamer and for any long time PlayStation fans.Read full review

Wanted to get a PS Vita for a year now since it came out. It has been well worth the wait! It looks very sturdy and the build quality is way above the PSP. The screen itself is very crisp and the OLED tech gives an amazing picture. Even my old PS1 & PSP games look better on the Vita. The controls are much tighter and feel way better for gaming. I drive better in Wipeout 2048 than on the PS3. The build and feel experience is great. I love the new touchscreen and the rear touchscreen. The free demos and welcome pack are a great help to get you used to all the new features. Uncharted Golden Abyss really uses the touchscreen features brilliantly. Climbing is now much easier. I used to die loads on all 3 PS3 versions when climbing. Now I just touch where I want to climb and Drake follows. The PS Vita version of Little Big Planet is the most fun ever. I have the original PS3 versions 1 & 2 and the PSP one. The ability to move things with the shake of the screen or using my fingers on the screen adds an extra dimension. Love it, love it, love it. The only downside for me is the basic front and rear cameras. Sony could of put better ones in. Just look at all the smart phones and you see where they saved money. A shame. Would I buy another PS Vita? You bet. I just love it.Read full review
The Vita is a big step up from the PSP and when custome firm ware is installed (very easy) it can also play PSP and other systems games. This first gen PSV has a better OLED screen than the second model and whilst is thicker and heavier than the PSV2000 in my opinion feels more solid. The touch screen and rear touch panel add a wealth of possibilities - games like Lemmings do not play well on the PSP but are bought to life when touch interactions are possible. Graphics and system speed all stand up to modern standards - at the price this is a retro gaming bargain and a much better choice than the army of cheap Chinese clone retro handhelds

The PS Vita arrived in one day which was extremely perfect but when it arrived I noticed there was two little scratches on the screen even though it said the new OLED screen was in new condition. Where the PS vita logo is on the Front if you put a little pressure on the glass it Will pop up and down and make a sound which is not really normal. Overall everything works and the version the Vita was on 3.60 I can install custom firmware. Overall everything works

Just bought a second hand vita and 7 good games, case, memory card all boxed for £86 At the price now they are worth investment, the games still feel fresh as well. Even new released games are £25 max, you can get most games for £10 - £15 second hand. Just bear in mind most old PS VITA's will have light marks / scratches on. The one I bought was advertised as "PRISTINE" but in fact was pretty much scratched all over and even had light dents on the back as well as scratching affecting the display. The seller did not reply to my message or even try to sort it out with me so he got a negative feedback. But it works fine and I really enjoy playing the PS Vita and I am enjoying putting together a good selection of games to go with it and enjoying hunting down bargain games on eBay. I think the old version is made better then the new slim model and the OLED screen is far better then the new cheaper LCD screen. I am sure there is still a few more years left for the PS Vita.Read full review

Great Little ocnsole with a promising future but at the moment... AN overpriced Playstation 1 emulator (And that was only recently 09-2012) the game selection for the vita leaves alot to be desired especially if you have been a psp gamer for a while and own all of your games on UMD you can still play those games.... If you pay for them again as digital downloads. so something to look forward to but does not yet have any must have games If you are purchasing i recommend Gravity Rush Marvel Vs Capcom 3 to a lesser degree Ridge Racer (Due to large amoutns of 'unlock' DLC) Also if purchasing this device do intend to buy the largest memory card you can. Currently 32GB
I absolutely love my PS Vita. The graphics are great, and the picture is perfect. It's just like having a mini PS4 in my hands.
