About this product

Product Information

A day-by-day look at The Beatles' first tour in the USA, beginning with their arrival on February 7, 1964. Featured is off-stage footage of the four band members on the road and in their hotel rooms as they sample American culture and clown around. Included is never-before-seen coverage of their activities in New York, Washington D.C., and Miami shot by the Maysles Brothers (the masterminds behind the pioneering Rolling Stones documentary GIMME SHELTER). THE FIRST U.S. VISIT also includes three of the Beatles' unforgettable performances on the Ed Sullivan Show--preserved intact--as well as their first American concert in Washington, D.C., in its entirety.

I was a little nervous about ordering these DVDs because the seller said, "no returns" and I've had two incidences where the seller had said this when buying videos and the item turned out to be bootleg. However, this was not the case with these videos. They were everything that the seller said they would be. They arrived earlier than was stated and the videos and the packaging were in very good condition.

Good and bad for "Beatles - The First U.S Visit"

    1. DVD case's disc holder is broken, which makes the disc more likely to get damaged. I must find a replacement case and transfer the artwork to it. 2. The price went up considerably after I put the item into my cart, which I consider to be a "bait & switch" situation.

  • Better than A Hard's Days Night!

I was expecting a lot because of all the great reviews and it was even better than that!! It was so great to see all four of them so young and alive. It was a little like reality TV in a time machine. The performances were exciting and still fresh 45 years later. Even my 12 y/o daughter said if Paul McCartney was young like that today she would pick him over Robert Pattinson and Zac Efron because Paul is actually cuter. :) I was around 7 y/o & lived in NY at that time and I remember Murray the K & those "Good Guys" sweatshirts- I think they were yellow. My father worked in Manhattan at that time and he met them on the street near central park when they had escaped the Plaza hotel that night. They asked him for directions. I was so mad at my Mom for not letting me go into ...
