  • Another Blessing from Max

Max Lucado does such a wonderful job of taking very simple ordinary things in life to illustrrate Biblical teachings. In this book, he compares us to bruised reeds or smoldering wicks. We are bruised by harsh words, anger, betrayal or our own harsh self-criticism. Perhaps a cold, heavy wind has blown out our wick of faith in tomorrow. Chapter by chapter, Lucado illustrates how Jesus met men and women years ago all the way until today and tomorrow at our points of need. He Still Moves Stones focuses on many challenges we all feel such as bitterness, difficult family members, discouragement, disappointment, fear, even wondering if God still cares about us. I highly recommend all of Lucado's books, but this one is among his best.

  • He Still Moves Stones

This is my tenth copy to buy! I think if you are struggling with anything in your life and wondering if God is still there, if he still cares then this is the book to read. Reminding you of a loving miraculous Savior. I have given this book away so many times to people I felt needed to be reminded that although it is a crazy world God still "Moves Stones" He still heals the sick, He still saves the lost, and He is still on His throne. Max Lucado is my favorite author he is a straight talking guy. I got to go to hear him in person one time and saw that he is just a normal guy that God called to do his work preach, write etc. I am not a writer as you can tell but I wanted to put this out there for whoever might be wondering if this would be something to read. If you were led to read this ...

  • A Blessing for all who read this book!

I received this book as a birthday gift many years ago, loved it and loaned it out. I am now purchasing my 5th copy, as each copy has been loaned out and not come 'home.' Max Lucado is an absolutely wonderful writer. He makes the people in the Bible like your neighbors and really makes understanding the Bible so much easier. This happens to be my very favorite of his books, as it speaks of people who have been abused, such as myself, and of the legalism of many churches turning people away from God rather than encouraging them in their faith (which is why I became a non denominal Christian).

  • Great book

I bought this book because we are reading it for our Summer Devotional group at my church. This book is fantastic. It's easy to read, easy to follow and is great for discussion in a group setting. The questions at the back really help promote thought and topics that are good for not only discussion, but also self reflection. I would highly recommend this book.

  • Must Have Read to Define One's Place in Life!!!

This book changed my life forever. While seeking what was wrong in my experience with God, chapter 13 revealed the word I was trying to define, and helped me to re-establish my faith. I went person to person telling them, I had found the truth. Max draws images in our minds with the words he paints together, helping the reader see the WHOLE picture of God's love for us. This book is a MUST HAVE in every library, public or private!
