Better than expected and well wrapped for delivery. Item described as not work or for parts. However, good communication back and forth with supplier lead me to understand that the item was in fact very usable and great value for money compared to other sellers for the same item. Recommended seller, will use again.

2 weeks for postal delivery was a bit long and import taxes + shipping price make up for 35% of the total price BUT this optionnal Nikon film holder is a rare object in France and the seller did a very good job: perfect packaging, delivery 2 or 3 days before the expected date, object in perfect condition, exactly as it was promised in the listing

This film camera is old, heavy, unreliable (due to age), need I go on? so why am i reccomending it? well its a simple camera to use as everything is manual, doesnt even have aperature priority! has a coupled light meter which is suprisingly accurate (slightly under exposeing pics) its fine for landscapes particularly if you tilt the camera slightly groundwards when taking lightmeter readings. for close up work the lightmeter is a bit hit and miss. No batteries required for this camera, real plus there! the standard lens with these monolithic cameras is the legendary helios 44, this is the strong point wooms, wide angles, ith these camera, the helios 44 is a great lens. the f2 version particularly so. And as the camera is m42 lens compatable there are a lot of very cheap quality optics out ...

  • 1979 Zenit EM 35mm Camera

I decided to buy this camera, because it seemed to be one of the simplest examples of a 35mm SLR around. The Soviet policy of "less moving parts, less can go wrong" has been thoroughly applied, with no battery and minimal mechanical parts. The photos are sharp, consistent and the camera is simple, tough and reliable. Great for day and night shots, with a fairly accurate light meter to help you judge shutter speed and aperture for the perfect shot. The shutter speed settings are a little limited, 1/30 to 1/500 and a manual B setting can be difficult to work with, but coupled with a good lens and ISO 200 film this camera can take shots just as good as any film SLR. I’ve had very few problems, the only one being the occasional torn film, which is a problem suffered by many users of film SLR ...

  • lovely retro mint camera

excellent retro camera of the Moscow olympic era. mint condition,35mm agfa or kodak film still available for just 1 pound from poundland locally, lovely camera in black. thank goodness for e bay, have no camera shops locally now a days.

  • Great 35mm Retro Photography !

Back in the 1970's when I was a lad, I really wanted to get into photography and would look at all the fine Japanese camera's in Photographic magazines, sadly out of my price range. Then, someone suggested I look behind the iron curtain for the answer to my problem and I came across the Zenit EM 35mm SLR camera. Even by mid 70's standards, the camera was hopelessly outdated but what it offered was a chance of buying a perfectly good camera at a price that would not break the bank. The camera is built like a tank and weighs the same! but it featured a good range of shutter speeds up to 1/500th of a second, a really good 58mm lens on a 42mm screw mount so that a wide range of other lense's could be fitted. What I really liked was the exposure meter which, though not through the lens, was ...

  • Basic, competent beginner's camera without batteries

The Zenit EM camera was one of the first to use automatic lenses instead of requiring you to close the aperture manually before pressing the shutter release. Most Pentax screw m42 lens can be used, automatic or not. The over-the-lens meter is less useful than one through the lens because you have to work out your own compensations for extension tubes etc. The Zenit is clunky, strong, heavy and will keep working long after modern digital cameras have expired batteries. Batteries? It doesn't need them. Everything is manual or clockwork. Exposures? Work out your own. f8 at 1/125 covers most situations and adjust for lighter or darker. With the Zenit you have to think to get a good exposure. It is available at a low price, as are the lenses and accessories. If you want to learn about film ...
