While the DVD was great and I got it in a timely manner, the DVD was missing the DVD cover that is was supposed to come with. There is a cover that is over the DVD case to protect it. To know what the DVD cover looks like, all you have to do is to look at the products picture. I would love it if a cover was sent to me.

A good Sci-fi, horror movie that is worth owning. David Cronenberg's vision and direction for this classic remake is memorable for his insane perversion of a scientist' ego and recklessness that eventually leads to his horrible metamorphosis in terror. Jeff Goldblum is versatile in playing a brilliant scientist who evntually suffers from his own teleportation experiment. As a horror movie, it provides great pacing, gory special effects, and tragic but moral ending to the story. Personally the movie should have retain the more graphic and gruesome scenerios that was eventually abandoned by writer and director. This is a classic that is recommended.
From the striking opening credits sequence to the emotional finale, David Cronenberg (SCANNERS, VIDEODROME) transforms a standard '50s B-movie into a dark, contemporary tale of playing god with devastating results. Long before becoming a pop-cultural punchline, Jeff Goldblum brings his twitching expressions into the role of Seth Brundle. The reclusive, but eccentric scientist conducts a teleportation experiment in what is considered to be the coolest apartment loft in the history of cinema. When suddenly, Brundle's human molecules blend with an ordinary fly while inside the booth. Goldblum and then-squeeze Geena Davis shared plenty of memorable chemistry in the much-talked about scenes in the movie. Two scenes in paticular: the Poetry of Steak and the Sugar-Rush Cappucino scenes. One-time Coen brothers regular John Getz is an unforgetable riot as Davis' ex-boyfriend/editor. I wouldn't consider him to be a comic relief by all means, but whenever he came on screen the film's humor comes in full form. The groundbreaking make-up effects from Chris Walas are outstandingly frightening to the ninth or possibly tenth degree. There is a saying in film circles. If someone is going to remake a film, do it differently and that's what Cronenberg did with THE FLY. When watching this movie, just stop and think to yourself, "Be afraid. Be very afraid."Read full review
Great classic. My eight and a half year old turned it off during the very last part as it was too much for him. So PARENTAL DISCRETION STRONLY ADVISED!

This is a terrific movie about a brilliant scientist who discovers the secret of traveling via molecualr breakdown and rebuilding. The trouble is that during a routine test, a fly gets into one of the transport pods. This coupled with a problem with the pods leads to some very interesting changes in the scientist (Jeff Goldbloom). Goldbloom turns in a wonderful performance in this film as does Geena Davis. This is definitely worth seeing.
Awesome movie I would recommend this movie to anyone that loves horror movies!!!!!
