I have one of these sets, it contains 14 DVDs. Discs 1-5 are all Engineering Disasters (structural collapses, explosions, crashes, etc.) the rest (6-14) are all their regular episodes. If you are a MM fanboy this is a great set to own. The box claims 35 hours of programs. Each disc averages three episodes of aprox 45 min each with no commercials (aside from native ads). Most of these shows appear to have been filmed in the late 1990s up to around 2005, they reference technology way in the future, maybe in 2010 or 2015! The disasters and marvels covered go much further back in time than 1990. One piece of information the box never mentioned is how many episodes were made for the History Channel (the history of Modern Marvels) and how. This set is all framed in the old TV aspect ratio, prior to HD OTA broadcasting.Read full review

Very nice collection of episodes. We bought this used. I'm not sure I'd pay for a new version, it's pricey.

I bought this set after watching a few episodes on the History Channel. This set is so entertaining & informative! My family will choose a title & watch an episode once a week! The episode will keep us discussing for days! It's really a great set and I recommend it highly! Thank you!
I LOVE "Modern Marvels" but on this set I'd like to see more "how it is made" kind of thing, instead of more than a third of the set, 5 DVDs, with Engineering Disasters.
History channel did a great job selecting the episodes for the best of box set. A good variety of shows that I like and my wife likes. A great deal considering individual episodes aren't cheap.
