    Reason for Temptation

While this film was swamped by negative commentary on content before its release, it in fact contains a moving plot pondering on destiny with responsibility. Strong performances and stellar cameos from stars such as David Bowie as Pontious Pilate. Peter Gabriel provides an awesome soundtrack.

  • Excellent film

Unbelievably dramatic showing of the Jesus story (based on the equally excellent book of the same name by nikos kazantzakis, rather than the four gospels from thebible). Though it is therefore not the 'authentic' version of the story, it is a version which presents the inner dilemma of a man striving to be true to his inner knowledge and convictions, in a way which absolutely respects the meaning of the religion (as i understand it, anyway) but makes the various scenarios of the story quite immediate - as you watch the film, basically, you are there, in Jerusalem, in Nazareth, even on the cross. I'm not a fan of all Scorsese's work, but this is truly remarkable.

  • Worth a watch, easy going.

Intriguing and interesting angle on the situation which is more feasible but just another story in the end.

  • Lol....

Well it's a superb movie. It reminds me of The Life of Brian! It's seems Jesus was Schizophrenic and all the people around him and indeed who were alive at the time were all nutters. It made me laugh out loud in places (Hang on whilst I just stick this ear back on!). It certainly isn't some Biblical epic nor is it insulting to Christianity. It's probably a much more honest depiction of a man struggling with his life in the early days of Christianity. Beautifully shot and definitely worth watching. Look out for a great performance by David Bowie...

  • Great film

Great film , William Dafoe is a great actor and so are the other actors, I also like the back ground music in this different take on the story of Jesus Christ
