Brilliant image quality and robust construction.
These 10x42 give amazingly better & brighter images than 10x50's from much cheaper brands. Minimum focus distance is significantly shorter so short range observations are great. The construction minimises the risk of optical misalignment in the event of knocks and their reasonably light weight makes them easy to hold. Waterproof to 1.5m of water for 3 minutes and filled with inert gas so should last well. I am very impressed. Sussex based Company Optical Vision Ltd get these manufactured in China for sale under the Barr & Stroud brand name. OVL have confirmed that the 10 year limited guarantee is administered by themselves but it does not include optical misalignment. The first 12 months of guarantee requires claims to be referred to the retailer then after that to OVL. Listed on Ebay ...
