I would recommend this book to anyone interested in learning about color. The author introduces the reader to a unique method of learning about, understanding and perceiving color. Albers offers a number of simple, and easily replicated, experiments you can try as you learn about the interaction of color. I enjoyed this 'hands on', interactive approach. It made the learning experience extremely interesting, as well as enjoyable. The Plates in the back of the book offer examples of some possible results of you may get from the experiments. They clearly demonstrate how the context of color influences our perceptions, creating what can be perhaps be described as an optical illusion.
I remember these exercises, as assignments, from my color theory class 25 years ago. I now am 'refreshing' my color theory knowledge for fine oil painting and find this book invaluable.

Great description of color interaction from the perspective of classroom projects. Unlike other color books that try to use "words" to explain color interaction, this book explains what to look for then offers concise examples of the concepts. It's set up in an orderly, progressive series of color studies. I would highly recommend it for anyone interested in understanding how colors interact with each other.
Highly recommend
