This movie is amongst the best horror films that I have seen, coming from the UK. The movie has the presents of really strongly defined characters which you can see develop right a a long with this horror story . The plot is very straight forward and is frighteningly realistic, going overboard with frightening events. I admire the film as an entire an embodiment of well a structured story with the negative characters going way beyond being sadistic and horrible. The protagonists: two campers who are lovers, trying to be adventurous in selecting an unfamiliar place for their camp ground. They seem to be looking for a romantic getaway, but it turns horrible. The protagonists show signs of class awareness that violates the folkways of the antagonist villagers. This is because they are offensive to the lower eschelon villagers, by being snotty and condescending. Challenging the wits of seemingly juvenile delinquent children to the point of ultra violence. The male camper is just too big for his britches and is out done by cruelty the village seems to be possessed by. The female camper is seemingly gifted and more aware than her counter part. She seems to be smarter than everyone else, calmer, and outwits the children who are trying to kill her. The end of the movie doesn't clarify if the villagers get away with all their doings or not, and leaves you in suspense. Not telling you what the fate is of the pretty female character.Read full review
I started off as a small child loving the 1930's horror movies and old TV shows such as 'Thriller' and 'Outer Limits.' There was usually a moral underpinning in the stories, or an attempt at one. Not so over the past dozen years, perhaps beginning with Jeepers Creepers. The trend in films that inculcates helplessness and victimhood in the face of evil is disturbing propaganda. (Why would anyone in a life threatening situation dare and pick up a club to defend themselves?!) A diet of this dreck, incrementally over time, jades the audience to accept such evil in real life. Recall the deranged psychopath with a knife cutting off an innocent man's head on a bus in Canada a few years back; while fellow passengers watch and wring their hands in helplessness. Suggesting that one might respond as a bystander by picking up a heavy object or trying to create some sort of noisy distraction to save a life invited derisive and cowardly comments on the message boards. Evil prevailing in the end is a twisted, amoral message, but it now appears in our films with disturbing frequency. That is the sum of this film too. This type of 'entertainment' has no value other than to turn its viewers into Eloi.Read full review

I've wanted to see this movie as soon as I read it's description. It sounded so interesting, and it definitely was. This movie is more of a thriller than a horror, but an intense one. It's very realistic which impressed me. It's basically about a sweet couple who take a trip out into the country for a quiet romantic getaway until a group of troubled teens start to terrorize them. You'll know why those kids were the way they were when you watch further into the film. The torture in this film is very brutal, so be aware. I found the acting and everything very realistic, one of the best British thrillers I've ever seen. The ending is quite shocking and unexpected!!!
I had this movie before then either missed placed it or lost it. In any event I bought the movie again. It was a great movie, I highly recommend it 🙂
