After proving his mettle as a fighter in Soul Calibur II, Todd McFarlane's Spawn continues his Xbox exploits in a third-person 3D shooter set in gritty streets and alleyways of New York City. The focus of the game is combat, where Spawn can use three different methods of attack: hell powers, weapons, and hand-to-hand maneuvers. In addition to fighting enemies, Spawn must also find ways to traverse the 3D levels by jumping, gliding with his cape, or using his chains to latch onto higher ledges. The chains also come into play during melee encounters, where the troubled comic book hero can attach them to enemies before ripping them apart, lifting them into the air, or finishing them off with his axe known as Agony.<br> <br>To fight enemies at a distance, Spawn can equip himself with machine guns, chain guns, shotguns, and more powerful variants. Hell powers complement the ranged and hand-to-hand attacks by providing players with additional offensive or defensive capabilities. Hell Speed, for example, alters the flow of time, slowing down the action so players can attack multiple foes at once, while the Necroplasm Ball fires a charged mass of energy toward opponents for substantial damage. The game consists of seven main areas, each spanning multiple levels, with the majority taking place within New York City. Yet players will also journey to hell and heaven during their adventure. Enemies consist of creatures from the underworld and beyond, as well as archrivals the Curse and Violator.

Item condition is spot, though I would say it’s around good or very good. The discs are in good shape, it’s really the jewel case that’s shown signs of use. The packaging was one of those plastic packages which you can see in one of the provided photos. It went well this time, but it always scares me to see a jewel case unprotected. Anyway the condition was accurate and the shipping was in time for what the seller listed. I’d say the $4.47 shipping was justified.

    Spawn is a Beautiful but Difficult Game

    As a 3rd-person adventure, this game is visually compelling, story driven, and fan approved. Quite gory for its time. Kind of like God of War before its time! The only thing that might be a negative is that it is difficult where you have to strategically save ammo & power while also adjusting the camera angle view.

    Spawn: Armageddon (Xbox)

    I purchased as a gift for my brother. I already owned the title on Playstation 2 and enjoyed playing it. He likes alot of comic books and he also enjoyed playing the game on my Playstation. It was a little dissapointing in the lack of "powers" that were used by Spawn in the game, but it was understandable, it is a video game, and allowing everything in the game would be impossible. It was, however, the BEST portrayal of Spawn in a video game EVER! I never actually played the Xbox game, I only played the title on PS2, but I assume there was little difference.

    Spawn Armageddon

    Loved the concept and character. Big fan of the comics and loved being able to play the game. wish xbox would put out a new version for the 360 with better graphics and cinematic sequences. I purchased this game because i am a huge fan of Spawn from the beginning and had not been able to get my hands on the game, saw it for a good price and purchased it.
