Great experience. I ordered a luxury hardcover for which the condition of the book is important and the packing was great and the item was as described. I asked questions during the process and the seller was responsive and helpful. I would definitely buy again from this seller

  • In a World that no longer exists, the story of English families trying to settle in Africa as told from the memories of a young girl.

The pioneering spirt is alive and well in this early 20th century true story of the initial attempted settling of land in Africa by the English and their families as told from memories of a young girl. Frank in it's revelations of bigotry and racism against the local population our young author tells it like she experienced it. Eventually though, their efforts are interrupted by World War I as they are forced to leave their struggling farms behind. Well written account of these times and the hardships faced by many.
