    Leonard Cohen - An Artist Like No Other - A Collection for Your Soul

    A very complete early collection. It doesn't contain his last albums - but it's a great place to start your journey. This set allows the listener to follow and hear the changes and development of Leonard Cohen's career. Rather than just the "essential" songs - it includes the more obscure compositions. These are so often very personal. He was always more of poet than anything else. Load these into you CD changer and spend a rainy Sunday celebrating the works of a master of prose and song. This collection shines a light into (most) all the corners and crevices of his heart and soul. A great collection for a true fan or a listener who wants to be moved, emotionally.

    You have to like Leonard in all his years of singing, Most of the songs are from his early recordings before his voice changed to the bass quality he is most noted for. You wonder how he ever got to mke a recording.

    For fans of music with lyrics that have meaning this is a sure bet. Cohen's studio versions of his music offer the listener a chance to experience his music without audience interference. High quality cd's, wonderfully packaged. It would be a steal at twice the price. It would be a treat to see other such artists' collections similarly packaged and offered. Good work.

    This collection contains ELEVEN cds in an attractive box. It contains every studio album Cohen recorded, from "The Songs of Leonard Cohen," through "Dear Heather." Later cds, like "Old Ideas," are NOT included. Good recording quality. If you are a Leonard Cohen fan, you will love this. If you have recently discovered him via his newest cds, you will be surprised that Cohen's gravelly, subterranean voice began as a tenor. Highly recommended.
