    Mighty Aston

    I stumbled on the Aston on YouTube, while looking for a demo of a pair of AKG 214's I was about to order. The sound of the Aston as drum overheads was so impressive, I presumed they were a lot dearer than the 214's.....WRONG. They came out at the same price ( once you added the suspension cradle ) so I now have a pair over my kit & they sound fabulous. I've got them set up in the Glyn John's configuration & my drums have never sounded so good. You can screw these mic's directly on to a mic stand or you could use a goose neck, instead of getting the cradle . I can wholeheartedly recommend the Aston Origin , its sounds great, it's robust & it's made in the UK. Check them out on YouTube.

    I sold a Neumann because of buying this, it's that good!

    Love this mic. Seriously, love it. At this price it's an absolute no brainer, it sounds delicious on everything and should really cost 5x the price (shhhhhh don't tell Aston). LOVE the design, it feels super solid and of high quality. In fact, I love it so much I sold both a Neumann M149 and Lauten Audio Horizon which were both lovely mics. This just seems to hit the mark on everything I put into it, can't rate this mic highly enough. Will definitely be watching Aston closely to see what else this audio geniuses come up with! You won't regret buying this at all.

    Solidly built good sounding British engineered microphone.

    A well made microphone , solid and reasonably heavy with a unique metal chain link material providing good protection against plosives. It can be mounted on a conventional stand but really needs a shock mount (the one provided is excellent). Controls for a pad and a Low Cut filter are provided. Tonally the mic is very nice indeed for vocal or instrument. The output signal is very reasonable and self noise is low, response pretty flat and accurate,
