The item shows average signs of wear and tear including scuff marks, scratches, nicks, and worn finishes. Please refer to the pictures to get a better idea of the physical condition. Note this is commonly referred to as the "1st Edition" Rouge et Noir as legend has it that Montblanc released these pens originally as "Rouge et Noir" and then recalled them due to trademark issues, rebranding them as the modern-day Boheme series. Thus, it is a somewhat rare pen in many ways given the way it was recalled. We noticed the rear lid where the cartridge inserts didn't clasp/snap as tight as it should. The thread on the rear twist mechanism came loose for us as we test opened/closed the pen (will need some servicing likely to secure). In addition, the engraving for "Germany" and the serial number isn't quite as sharp as some of the more modern pens (appears finger oils have gotten in the grooves of the engravings).
