    Just what I needed.

    My printer told me I needed to replace the maintenance cartridge. I ordered one, put it in & it just fit. It is now doing an excellent job quietly. You don't even know it's there & won't until time to replace it.

    Epson Maintenance Cartridge for Stylus Pro 3880/3800 Printer

    The cartridge holds a large amount of ink so that one does not need to replace it often. How often? Of course it depends on how much ink is consumed in cleaning printer heads, etc. I do only modest printing so a maintenance cartridge lasts me about 2 years. Expect to pay $22 to $27 for a new one.
