    Bad Remastering of a Classic

    Although I don’t have a 1977 original of this new, remastered reissued version of “Heavy Weather” to compare it to, I do have a 1980 original of Weather Reports “Night Passage”. There is night and day difference in the musical detail of the two albums. The new version of “Heavy Weather” sounds as though it was remastered from the CD version rather than going back to the original master tapes because it has no depth or dynamics to the music.
