Perelman among the writers guarantee delightful family fare. The beginning of the film features a prologue by Edward R. Murrow, the esteemed television journalist, and features the first film to be based on a Jules Verne novel, Georges Melies's A TRIP TO THE MOON from 1902. A veritable pageant, with similar vim, humour and class acting as IT'S A MAD, MAD, MAD, MAD WORLD, but with an esteemed production of period detail and exotic locations.<BR>Winner of five Academy Awards for Best Cinematography, Best Editing, Best Music, Best Adapted Screenplay and beating THE KING & I and THE TEN COMMANDMENTS for the best picture award!
