Would have been better with a quality and amplifying convex lens to amplify and spread the light evenly instead of focusing it like a flashlight. Works better on full zoom but the results still shows an uneven light spread.

It works very well and I am very happy with it. It is good for starting out with photography and to learn how the settings workOn the camera without having to buy a flash. I would not hesitate in recommending this with your starting camera and it looks impressive on the camera. I used the under and over exposures on the camera and it worked very well.
