      Check the Drive Pinion

      This item claims to be 100% compatible with Dyson DC24 but this was not the case with my machine. The brush drive pinion - that sticking out bit which goes into the end of the brush bar, was too long so the brush bar would not lock into place after fitting the new unit. There is a simple and easy solution however, just lever off the one on your old unit and swap them over. BUT check before you start because it is a pain to do after it is all re-assembled.

      if the spigit is to long, you can get a blue haired brushbar which have a longer inner centre to take the long spigit.
