This type of switch measures 17.52 inches long by 11.61 inches wide by 2.59 inches deep. The switches weigh 19 pounds. Through the web interface, you can set up a password for each device or a password for each user. This Cisco Systems hardware is also rack-mountable. The Cisco Catalyst ws-c2970g-24t-e series switch comes with all necessary hardware for mounting. These switches have blinking green LED lights to let you know that each switch is operational.Managing this Cisco Catalyst series switch is easy due to the web browser interface. You can set up the VLANs parameters, use SNMP management applications, and set up administrative access. These Cisco Catalyst series switches feature zero-touch installation. This automatic configuration saves you time and ensures that the accessories have the proper network settings.Intelligent Cisco monitoring software takes care of security, giving real peace of mind to business users and network managers. These Catalyst series switches use IEEE 802.ax. This provides you with Cisco Enhanced Image (EI) IOS software. This program offers a complete set of intelligent multilayer services to deliver security, quality of service (QoS), and availability. It allows the switch to execute an access control list (ACL) filtering and QoS classification for enhanced security to the edge of the networks. Within your LAN, this program enables applications such as IP telephony and real-time streaming multimedia.This Cisco Catalyst series switch has a 190-watt power supply. The Catalyst switches deliver 30 watts of power to each of the modules. The built-in software allows you to get real-time information and detailed reports about traffic flow from each of the modules. The Catalyst series switch also has flash memory to store information about each device's settings. This memory simplifies the swapping out of equipment when you are upgrading your networks. The Catalyst series product utilizes EnergyWise for integrated management of PoE and energy consumption for each of the 24 nodes.

Solid product.
Using a TP-Link gigabit switch would not allow my Linux laptop to connect to anything greater than 100MB. This switch, with default interface configuration, allowed my laptop to connect at 1000MB. If you are running Linux and are having the same issues with a non Cisco switch, I highly recommend buying this switch, as it will truly solve the issue.
