Well made and good looking
Well made, great finish and good looking, but slightly wide in the fitting towards the lens making it wiggle a litle but. This was easily fixed by adding a narrow strip of thin tape to make it tighter.

Big improvement on Canon base
This is a really useful piece of kit that improves on the standard foot supplied with the lens. Canon could learn from this: why doesn't the Canon part fit Arca Swiss quick-release plates (which are pretty much industry-standard) out of the box? Other useful features lacking in the Canon part are the grippy finger-hold things make it easier to carry lens and camera, and the slot for a strap. Only (trivial) niggle is that this part lacks the click-detent on the tightening screw that makes the Canon part less likely to wiggle free.
